Script

For the past couple weeks in Te Ngahere we have been writing a script for an animation. The animation was to show what we learnt. We had the choice to learn about Refugees or The New Zealand Wars. My partner and I chose refugees. Our script had to include four to five parts explaining how they came here and what their motive was. The part I enjoyed was writing the script because I liked writing the funny parts. The hardest part for me was reading all of the texts. Hope you like my script.

Part 1
Dad “ We have to leave Scotland it’s to dangerous here.
Mum ” Why?
Dad ‘Well there's a war going on, plus our land has been taken off us.
Mum  ”You have a point there.
Dad “ Where exactly are we going to go?
Mum ” Somewhere better than Scotland...
Mum “Hurry up kids we're going to be late."
Boy “ Do we have to leave?”
(Boy and Girl eating breakfast
Girl “ Yes, it’s going to be fun”
Dad “ It's going to be fine."
Boy “ What will the people there think of us?
Girl “ This is exciting but I do kind of have butterflies."
Part 2
Girl “How are we all supposed to fit on this small boat it’s going to be crowded."
Boy “How long are we going to be on this boat for?
Mum “About 1 year."
Dad “ Oh look they're letting us in."
Boy “NOOOOO".
Girl “do we have to".
Mum “   Come on."
Boy “ This isn't so bad but I think I have a few splinters in my back."
Girl “ Ha ha, this gunky boat is disgusting, can we go back?
Mum “ Very funny, we have been here for too long we can't go back."
Girl” you're joking right?
Boy “ Hold on, where do we go to the bathroom?
Boy leans his head against the edge of the boat.

Part 3 arriving
Mum “ what is that island in the distance it’s covered in fog.
Boy “ it’s probably another random island. Trust me it’s all we have seen for months now.
Mum “ you think?
Girl “  look the boat is slowing down I think we are here.
Boy “  We have stopped it’s getting quite dark are we at the island?
Mum “ I think we are!
Dad “  look they are letting us out of the boat.
Boy “  Yes, No more getting sick and no more getting splashed!
(they stand on the boat waiting to walk off).
( they get splashed constantly while they are walking of)

Kawakawa Cultural Festival

On friday the Kapa Haka Roopu went to the Kawakawa Cultural Festival. We had two weeks to put together 5 items. What I enjoyed was doing the haka. Next time we come I want to perform a full bracket to show others. I think our Roopu did well with using our hoe of Tumia to put these five items together in two weeks, and representing our school.
