• Kingi is a bus full of learning.
• Kingi is a runner trying to pick up speed to achieve his goals.
• Kingi is a flower full of happiness.
• Kingi is a wasp that is protective fast and furious.
• Kingi is a tree that keeps growing everyday.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Should plastic bags be used in the Supermarket?

WALT: recycle reuse and reduce.

I think that Plastic bags shouldn’t be used in the supermarket. Because plastic bags go into the water and pollute the water and sea animals die from them. Like the turtle that eats jellyfish and they don’t see the difference that we do. People should use a reusable bag instead of plastic bags.

Plastic bags could possibly kill humans because the small fish eat the plastic and big fish eat the small fish and humans eat the big fish. We want people to come to New Zealand so that we can have money but if we litter we won’t be a clean green country.

Landfills can make gas’s and that can cause global warming. Global warming melts the ice and that make the sea levels rise. It also ruins the ozone layer and

that causes skin cancer. And we can get it faster too. The plastic and rubbish can kill the sea life like dolphins, fish, whales and especially turtles.

Do you want to kill our sea life?

In the first week of term 4 Te Ngahere made a persuasive writing for reduce, reuse and recycle. Our WALT was to use the correct structure for a persuasive. I need to work on compound sentences.  

Common and Proper Nouns

Last week in Te Ngahere had to make a google drawing about common nouns and proper nouns. Because the whole of Te Ngahere didn’t get it right in their story. Our WALT was to  know common and proper nouns. We had a buddy to work with I was with Lennix.

Writing Goals

Last week Te Ngahere made a google drawing about writing goals.  Our WALT was to identify our next learning goals in writing. We got the writing goals off our learning goals slide.

Ice Cream

On Friday Te Ngahere made ice cream. When we made the ice cream we had to be with a buddy my buddy was Sonny boy. When we finished the ice cream we had to write a recount about making the ice cream. I was learning to put metaphors, question marks and exclamation marks in my writing.

The Tangelo

Tuesday 21st February Tangelo The Tangelo a round bumpy ball crispy when you peel the skin off. The juice so sticky the skin so sour and a strong smell. Bumpy on my tongue and sweet juice squirting onto my face making it sticky White stuff inside it looks yum but yuk. Tasted like a yum mandarin I but it didn't look like a real tangelo it just looked like a orange.

This is my descriptive Tangelo story. I learnt what it smells like, felt like, smells like, sound like and looks like. In the writing we had to put descriptive words in it to make it interesting.

Tuesday 7th February

I remember…

Digging a hole at the beach.

The sand so hard to dig.

Little waves of slippery water coming into the hole.

The hole getting filled up with water.

I get sand all over my hot body.

I go jump in  the ice cold water to wash all the sand off.

I get out of the water my cousins are burying my brothers feet in the hole with sand.

That was summer.

Yummy toast

I learnt that we had to write instructions like it was for an alien from out of space. When Mrs Pou followed the instructions there were a few mistakes the first mistake was put the butter on the toast and Mrs Pou put the container of butter on the toast.

I learnt when you retell a story you have to do it in your own words and don’t copy and also I had to do speech marks and paragraphs.
